A MindMap template for Lotus Notes/Domino development
Monday, June 27th, 2005
Lotus Notes Database MindMap

For those of you Notes/Domino developers out there who use Mindjet's MindManager, I have put together a basic MindMap that you can use to assist you when developing new databases. It allows you and/or your team to visually list all of the design elements you plan on using in a database.

Download the MindManager Lotus Notes/Domino template. Here is an Acrobat PDF file of the template.

I have a user who wants to be able to make Lotus Notes DocLinks into hyperlinks in MindManager. To do so, you would need to build a small add-in to MindManager. Would you be able to advise him on any Lotus Notes Development resources that would be able to do this?

What? You've got an API that can deal with dragging doclinks around and you haven't told me about it?

With all of the recent talk about locking down web app security, might it be prudent to add an ACL entry to your MindMap?

I have recently begun to use MM6Pro and have been quite impressed. Then I found your Notes development template and I was completely hooked...the only mod I have made is to add a topic for ACL, with subtopics for Access (that branches to all of the access types Manager, Designer, etc) and Roles.

Thanks for the contribution to the communities (Notes Dev and MM6.)

@Andy,

I will add the ACL entry. Excellent point.

I've just started to use MM and its well good. Now I've got my DB structure in there I think it be cool if you could use the xml export from MindMap and transform it into DXL to create your nsf DB, even in an outline form. What do you think? I guess it depends on how you lay out your Map. Is it worth a go? If anybody has done or does do it, please post it here. I'd love to try the result.

Nathan

I hate recreating the wheel so while surfing I found your MM for NOTES and want to say thanks. As an aside, I don't use MM; I use FreeMind found on the Sourceforge site. It's Open Source and works great. I can open and edit any MM file. Again, thanks. Hope you give FreeMind a "look see" . . . Sheeva
