I hope that there are some sessions on open source software for the Lotus brand at Lotusphere 2007. It is also a blast to see that "OpenNTF" solutions are frequently mentioned in many sessions given at the 'sphere.
So now that we don't have to prepare a presentation it looks like Anil, Vince and I have some extra free-time during November and December to make the OpenNTF site even better. We are also discussing whether to expand the site into other application development technologies that frequently interact and complement Notes and Domino applications.
Gayle and I will see you at Lotusphere 2007. We are both very excited to see everybody again. Especially Vince who blew us off last year cuz he hurt his little foot in on a bunny ski slope :-).
Update
Somebody just told me that a Loti had told them today that Lotus wasn't accepting repeat sessions from prior years spheres. Dang - if I would have known that I would have changed the title and the abstract.
Update 2
Volker has some thoughts about this.

That's a great pity Bruce, I enjoyed the session last year and from the number of people who didn't know about OpenNTF beforehand I think it did a good service.
We'll just have to let as many people as possible know about the OpenNTF projects in other ways.

@Matt,
Exactly - and this is what we have done for the last five years. It's the applications produced by people like you that make OpenNTF what it is.

So I'm allowed to go skiing again? Since we don't have a session anyway

If true, that's an odd position. Sometimes the repeat sessions are there because they cover topics people really enjoy.
I've got a couple in the works -- and I'm not sure which or how many are accepted, other than that one of them at least has been. I hope zero to hero gets called back, as that has always been really well received.

@Andrew,
Who knows. I just re-listened to an old Taking Notes podcast interview with one of the track leaders and they said that since they now will be using The Yacht and Beach Club for sessions that they would be able to have more sessions this year. Who knows It is what it is.

How disappointing... I think that IBM is really missing something, especially with open source solutions.
For the first time ever, I had a student tell ME about OpenNTF.org, because he saw a presentation on it at LS 2006. Usually, I'm telling students about it in class (complete with some quick demos).
Like you said, "It is what it is..."

Sad
Did they tell you a serious reason why, or is this "300 sessions, 25 slots" thingy their only excuse ?? ...
