We are currently preparing some very cool adverts and literature for some upcoming events and needed to know what the exact Lotus "yellow" color was for our Photoshop and Illustrator work. Well here is the lowdown:
PMS - 116 coated, 115 uncoated
CMYK - C0 M18 Y100 K0
RGB - R255 G204 B0
WEB - FFCC00
Well there you have it. Many thanks to David Hsu of IBM for this information. I am not quite sure if this is the "goldenrod" color that is used in the new Lotus Knows ads or not but, I simply wanted to pass on the color info.

You spelled (spelt?) colour wrong.

And do you know why you associate Lotus with Yellow, and what year Lotus started to use Yellow?
Before Yellow it was teal blue.

My understanding is that the color was changed from teal/blue to Yellow when Lotus started RETAIL marketing it's software.

Correct Craig. The colour changed when Lotus started selling 1-2-3 and other products in retail stores. The reason I was given at the time was that yellow stood out more on the shelves and sold more than other colours. Most PC products at the time had identical coloured boxes and were shaped like the original IBM PC DOS box.
The year was 1991/2.
